How to change am/pm to 24-hour
- Is it morning or afternoon? Am is morning, pm is afternoon and evening.
- Morning: keep the hour. 9:20 am is 09:20.
- Afternoon: add 12. 9:20 pm is 9 + 12 = 21:20.
Fox trick: the hands go round the clock twice each day. The first time is 1 to 12, the second time is 13 to 24!
Going backwards
See 18:40? Take away 12: 18 − 12 = 6, so it’s 6:40 pm.
