How to read o’clock — 2 easy steps

  1. Is the blue hand straight up at 12? If yes, it’s an o’clock time!
  2. Look at the short red hand. The number it points at is the hour.

Fox trick: the short red hand is the hour hand. Short and sweet, one hour at a time!

On a digital clock

O’clock always ends in two zeros: 3:00, 7:00. The zeros mean no extra minutes.

Try it!

Blue hand up at 12 and red hand on the 4? That’s “four o’clock” — 4:00.
