How to read quarter past — 3 easy steps

  1. Look at the blue hand. Is it pointing straight across to the right at 3? That’s quarter past!
  2. Look at the red hand. It has just stepped past an hour number.
  3. Say the hour it just passed: “quarter past” and that number.
