How to use am and pm — 3 easy steps

  1. Think about your day. Is it morning (before lunch)? That’s am. After lunch? That’s pm.
  2. Write the time, then am or pm. Breakfast at 7:30 is 7:30 am.
  3. Watch the 12s. 12 at night is 12 am (midnight). 12 in the day is 12 pm (noon).

🦊 Fox trick: the clock face only has 12 numbers, but a day has 24 hours. So the hands go round twice: once am, once pm.

Try it!

What time do you wake up? Is it am or pm? What time do you go to bed? Say the whole time out loud.
